Whenever a company plans to lunch a new smartphone, its first target market is India due to country’s huge population. Now Google is Planning to Release Its First Android Go Phone in India for a dirt cheap price of just $31.
According to a report by Factor Daily, the search giant is teaming up with multiple local vendors to bring the new cheap smartphone in India. These new smartphones will run Android Go (a clean stripped down version of Android Oreo), and the phones will just cost equivalent to $31.
Vendors like Micromax are on top of Google’s partnership priority. Other companies like Intex, Lava, and Karbonn are also reported to make their cut in this deal. According to reports, Micromax branded phone will cost just ₹2,000 (around $31). It is expected o launch by the end of this month.
It’s worth noting that Xiaomi has already conquered a huge Indian market by selling its budget offering. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is one of the most popular choice of Indians in the budget category. The China-based smartphone manufacturer will be Google’s biggest competitor and the search giant will have to come with something extremely compelling to beat Xioami.
