OnePlus 3T was launched back in 2016 and its been 2 years since that. A lot of new devices have come out in that period but is Is OnePlus 3T Still Worth Buying in 2018? Let’s find out.
OnePlus 3T Build and Display
Starting from the build quality, OnePlus 3T has a metal build with strong and sturdy feel. The phone measures 153 x 75 x 7.4mm and weighs 158g. It houses a power button on the right, Alert switch one the left along with Volume rockers, Micro USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. On the front is 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED Full HD display with a fingerprint scanner at the bottom. even though it’s not the pixel-dense display, users will hardly notice any difference.
OnePlus 3T hardware
Coming to the internals, OnePlus 3T comes with a Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage respectively. Pair that with Adreno 530 graphics and you have an obscenely powerful smartphone in your pocket. Though the SD 821 is an outdated chipset, it’s still capable of handling day to day tasks without a sweat and if you compare that with any midrange SoC like the latest Snapdragon 660, the 821 still holds its place on top.
Oneplus 3T Cameras
OnePlus 3T has a 16MP on the back with f/2.0 aperture, phase-detect autofocus, and optical image stabilization. On the front, we have the same 16MP camera and if you like sharp selfies, you are in luck. Both cameras produce some pretty decent photos and you won’t be disappointed with the camera results.
When OnePlus 3T first came out, it was rocking Android Marshmallow but it has been updated to Android Oreo. Considering this device to be 2 years old, it is pretty decent. Even many modern devices don’t have Oreo-like the Huawei Mate 10 lite or the LG G6.
If you decide to root the device and install Custom ROMs, then you have a lot of choices there. Visit the XDA post for the list OnePlus 3T Oreo ROMS and custom Kernels.
So, Is OnePlus 3T Still Worth Buying in 2018? The answer is yes if you get it for a good price. If you are getting this phone for under $300, then it’s worth picking up. But go above that and you have other good options like the LG G6 and the Galaxy S7 Edge.
