Left 4 Dead 2 gets an update next week after 9 years: The Last Stand

Next week, on September 24th, The Last Stand will be released for Left 4 Dead 2. It’s the first update to the zombie game in more than nine years. In addition to a new campaign, the update also brings new Survival arenas.

Resemling the release date of September 24 a new trailer for the update has been released. The Last Stand was created by about thirty developers from the Left 4 Dead 2 fan community in 11 months, in partnership with Valve. The update will be released for free on PCs on Thursday

The Last Stand includes new Survival and Salvage maps, the arm fork and shovel, zombies skins and sounds like those in Left 4 Dead 1, as well as updated animations for characters and weapons.

Valve’s zombie shooter was released in 2009 and was given its last official DLC in 2011 in the form of Cold Stream.
